Pucón and Villarrica Lake, Chile

Departure from San Martín de los Andes, in the early morning by the national route 40, passing through the city of Junín de los Andes, and then take the provincial route 60 where bordering the Malleo River and with the framework of Patagonian steppe area, we will begin to enter a large forest of araucarias araucanas, which is shared between the Lanín National Park and Villarrica de Chile. We will arrive at the border crossing, Paso Tromen or Mamuil Malal, where we will have the possibility to see the imposing Lanín Volcano, its north face. After doing the immigration procedures at both border posts, we will head along the Trancura River, between Valdivian jungle to the village of Curarrehue, then transit another 45 km. and reach the city of Pucón.

Pucón, is a tourist center, international, located on the shores of Lake Villarrica and almost at the foot of the Villarrica Volcano, with its constant fumarole. We can enjoy clear waters and beautiful beaches, the municipal handicraft promenade, with the typical wooden flower stalls, its typical meals -the seafood-, visiting every corner of one of chile's most pleasant and picturesque towns.

After a few hours off in Pucón, we will start the return by the same route, to reach again the city of San Martín, being able to contemplate the sunset.

Documentation required for crossing to Chile:

Carry ID card or passport, in good condition and valid. Verifies that you have the last document issued.If you are under the age of 18 accompanied by both parents, you must also carry the child's birth certificate and the parents' marriage note.In the event that the minor was accompanied only by one of his parents, he/she must have the authorised permission of the missing parent, birth certificate and marriage book.If the minor is accompanied by third parties, he/she must have authorization signed by both parents
